[Event] Ji Chang Wook receives award at Tencent App Star Night (updated)

The 2nd annual Tencent App Star Awards were held on 17 January 2016 at the Workers’ Stadium in Beijing, China.  Ji Chang Wook was invited to the ceremony and in addition to presenting an award, received one himself for “Most Popular Korean Artist of the Year.”  He also performed live “Pei Ni” (“Be With You”) from his recent EP release.

The Tencent App Star Awards is one of the more prestigious events in the mobile network industry, described as an “Internet Oscars” type of ceremony (quite like the International Webby Awards).  Over 80 mobile applications were nominated from various Chinese shopping, tourism and travel, financial, health and well-being, news, sports, and gaming websites.  100 judges were selected and involved in the voting for awards in these professional categories.

And we’re not exactly sure why Ji Chang Wook shared the stage with a very large robot, but he did.

  1. He’s getting so much love in China…barely 2 months there, but already presented with 2 awards!

The language barrier must be frustrating for him, but he managed it with aplomb.

    Thanks for all the updates!

PS: Who’s the lady beside him? Are you going to sub the video? Appreciate it much if you would.

  2. Thanks for this post Cherkell.

JCW..Congrats! So happy for you. You must have such a large Chinese fan base now. Good to know you’re receiving so much love and support from them. Keep it up!
