On 14 June, it was revealed through several news sources that Ji Chang Wook is “favourably considering” a lead role in a new tvN cable drama to be penned by writer Jang Hyuk Rin (“Reset”; “Yongpal”), with the working title of “K2.”
The director for this drama will be Kwak Jung Hwan (“Sang Doo, Let’s Go To School”; “Chuno”). “K2”, along with the drama “Tomorrow With You” starring Han Ji Min, are currently being considered for a broadcast time slot in September following “The Good Wife” on Friday and Saturday nights. “K2” is a revenge story about “a bodyguard who loved his country and colleagues but was abandoned by them, and the illegitimate daughter of a powerful election candidate who even uses love for revenge.”
Note: Glorious Entertainment has only confirmed that Ji Chang Wook is still considering “K2” and several other drama scripts at present. We will update this post as soon as further news is released.
10 July Update: According to several news reports today, it has been reported that both Ji Chang Wook and Song Yoon Ah have confirmed their roles for “K2” (working title). The two stars met up with the production team last week to discuss the story. Song Yoon Ah will be portraying the role of Choi Yoo Jin, the wife of a front-runner election candidate and the eldest daughter of JB Group; she is not the “hidden daughter” role that still has yet to be cast. Ji Chang Wook will play the role of Kim Jae Ha (K2), a JSS special bodyguard scouted by Choi Yoo Jin, and will carry out anything he is commanded to do without hesitation. He was formerly an elite mercenary soldier from a defence corporation known as People’s Military Company (PMC), which is one of the best in the world.
The drama will be produced by HB Entertainment and helmed by director Kwak Jung Hwan whose past works include KBS’ “Chuno” and TVN’s “Basketball”.
Shortly after reports of his “confirmation”, Glorious Entertainment released a statement saying “It’s true that this is a project that he’s considering, but his appearance is not confirmed yet,” so it seems like we still need to wait a little longer. The drama is scheduled to air after “The Good Wife” ends in September on TVN. We will update as more information is known.

It’s already 7/18. I mean if he’s gonna do it, they are really pushing it. It’s not like they’ve started filming or anything. Also neither he nor Glorious have confirmed. ???
Yey. Im so excited 😍😍
Good to hear this news… Im excited to watch this im badly miss healer a lot..
i’m very excited to see such a great actor on another korean drama. he is by far the best korean actor i’ve seen. I’m from the Philippines and we are fond of korean dramas, HEALER and EMPRESS KI are the best dramas i’ve watched so far. this was the first time that i have been so affected by dramas like HEALER and EMPRESS KI. JCW is a great actor. His eyes speaks a lot of emotions. i’m looking forward to seeing him again onscreen.
How I wish I could watch jcwook movie, soon..he’s really a good actor.n very handsome.
i so want to see him again in a kdrama! but, i want it to be a good one for HIM! he must go out with a bang to the army and i hope there is a script that is made for him! i really miss him.
Wooh😱:):):):) really!!!im so excited to see her new drama again, gogogo JCW
“Yong Pal” writer seems like a good choice ! But why doesn’t this drama get a spot in SBS, KBS or MBC ? Well, I guess it doesn’t matter much . As long as the production is good, I’m happy with JCW’s joining the drama. I hope they will get a good actress to pair with JCW. Song Hye Ko or Kim Tae Hee please !!!
As much as I want to see him back in kdrama I’m not excited about the script writer. Yong pal started very promising and went downhill fast. Anyway I trust JCW to make smart choices.
I was so excited to hear the news of a possible JCW Kdrama! Thank you for sharing. I hope he chooses a drama that highlights his talents and co-stars with an equally talented actress.
Omg… So grateful to hear his K drama comeback! ❤
Thanks for the news. I hope it’s a good quality script and drama.
Thanks for this great little snippet JCWKitchen.
Finally..a Korean drama! JCW..please don’t limit yourself to just the one Korean script..consider two or four or more! Missed you terribly in the KDrama scene. Bonus..you won’t be needing a translator on the set! 👍:)
For me JCW is the best choice for the role he is good heàler so I think he can give justice for a bodyguard..hope he consider it too..
YEEEEEEEEEY!!!!! 😉
OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! Please make it happen!!! Please God!!! *goosebumps* I am literally crying right now.
