Whispers of this event have been floating around the internet for awhile now, but we guess it’s finally safe to report: Ji Chang Wook has been named as the latest celebrity endorser for Lotte Duty Free! You may have seen their stores in various East Asian airport terminals (along with several other brick-and-mortar outposts), but is most famously known for their huge flagship department stores located in Myeongdong-gu, Busan and Tokyo Ginza.
The Lotte Duty Free websites had been teasing their soon-to-be-named celebrity endorser for a couple months now on their various Korean, Chinese and Japanese portals, with the announcement just made final on 17 October. Wook is joining a group of other Korean celebrities already in the Lotte Duty Free promotion stable, such as Lee Min Ho, Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Seung Won, Choi Ji Woo, and many others too numerous to mention. (A complete list of celebrity endorsers can be found in the “Lotte Duty Free Star Avenue” site here.)
And as what typically occurs with such a prestigious endorsement, Wook is scheduled to appear at the bi-annual Lotte Duty Free Family Festival 2016, to be held on 21 October at 6:00pm at the Olympic Main Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. We are unsure as to the exact details, but in events prior, there usually is some sort of hosted celebrity interview on stage with attendee tickets distributed via a store minimum-purchase lottery.
In addition to the fan meeting noted above, several groups such as EXO, NCT, Mamamoo, Lee Juck, Kim Bumsoo and many more will be performing at concert stages on 22 and 23 October (also at the Olympic Main Stadium) as part of this Lotte Duty Free Family Festival… um, festivities.
20 October update: A small video was posted by the Lotte Duty Free Weibo site, with Ji Chang Wook telling his fans to look forward to his appearance at the event:
