As announced by Glorious Entertainment, Ji Chang Wook will make an appearance on 14 November 2019 at the exclusive CLASH DE CARTIER STUDIO pop-up installation in Singapore.
In part due to a successful global launch of the CLASH DE CARTIER collection in Paris earlier this year, Maison du Cartier is going to experiment with revolving pop-up stores in various global locations, with Singapore being the first installation at the STPI Creative Workshop & Gallery at Robertson Quay. Subsequent pop-ups will allow attendees to review the CLASH DE CARTIER collection in other unconventional locations.
Cartier’s own promotional materials have described the CLASH DE CARTIER collection as “a range of jewellery that simultaneously champions and eschews classic forms, and balances clean design with an excess of energy and a serious spirit with original charm.” CLASH DE CARTIER upends the Maison’s aesthetic heritage with studs, beads and clous carrés (geometrical spikes).
Also included in this pop-up installation will be various other installations, such as “The Bookstore” (pictured at the beginning of this post), specially curated to display several genres, content and themes. “The Record Store” will feature futuristic sound showers played throughout the pop-up, where attendees will also be able to listen to the “CLASH DE CARTIER Playlist” curated by leading French sound designer, Michel Gaubert. After the installation closes, this playlist will be available via Spotify for download.
“The Café” (shown above) will act as a main lounge area, where guests are able to rest and relax, and enjoy complimentary pastries and drinks. Embracing the opposition of cultures in Singapore, “where East meets West”, one-half of The Café will be modelled with local décor, while the other half will feature contemporary European metallic design. Adding to the ambiance will be local DJ performance at The Café during the installation nightly from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
Ji Chang Wook’s appearance during the 14 November event is only open to invited guests and dignitaries. The CLASH DE CARTIER STUDIO will officialy open to the public from 15 to 17 November 2019 at the STPI Creative Workshop & Gallery, 41 Robertson Quay, Singapore 238236. Pre-registration of an hourly session is now available at clashdecartier.sg/register.
