The drama “If You Say Your Wish” (literal title) starring actors Sooyoung (Girls’ Generation) and Ji Chang Wook will be filmed for the first time later in September.
[NOTE: Until an official announcement has been made by either Ji Chang Wook or Glorious Entertainment, this is an ongoing story and will be updated as more information is made public.]
According to a broadcast official on 1 September, the drama “If You Say Your Wish” (alternate title: “Tell Me Your Wish”) has ended its major casting process and will begin filming this month. The drama will meet viewers through Netflix.
As we previously reported back on 8 July, “If You Say Your Wish” is a drama about people who dream of “well-dying” [Note: not the same as euthanasia or ‘mercy killing’; the concept of dying happily on your own terms] through images of terminally ill patients and volunteers to assist with their last wishes in a hospice ward. Choi Sooyoung, Ji Chang Wook and Sung Dong Il will appear.
Ji Chang Wook plays Yoon Geu-rae, who has no will or desire for life, but is barely holding on due to his youth, and Sung Dong Il plays Kang Tae-sik, a passionate volunteer leader who knows everything about the insides of hospice hospitals. Sooyoung takes on the role of Seo Yeon-joo, an ‘icon of vitality’ and a health-obsessed nurse.
The story deals with salvation that takes place in a hospice ward, and tells the story of saving an ‘adult child’ who has fallen into an abyss. “If You Say Your Wish” is a story that looks back on the meaning of true well-dying through images of terminally ill patients and volunteers who make their last wish in the background of a hospice ward.
Ji Chang Wook is currently filming Netflix’s original drama “Annarasumanara” and Sung Dong Il is currently filming tvN’s “Jiri Mountain.” Sooyoung recently appeared on Netflix’s “Move to Heaven.”
