On 2 February, an official from Ji Chang Wook’s agency Glorious Entertainment told OSEN, “It is true that Ji Chang Wook received an offer from the new drama ‘Welcome to Samdalri.’ [working title] We are currently coordinating details and we are positively considering making an appearance.”
Also on the morning of 2 February, the news of actor Shin Hye Sun’s appearance in “Welcome to Samdalri” was also reported. However, an official from Shin Hye Sun’s agency, IOK Company, told OSEN, “We are preparing for ‘Wax Queen’ first as the next project. Since then, nothing has been decided, so it may be premature to tell you. Regarding the appearance of ‘Welcome to Samdalri,'” he replied cautiously, “We are currently discussing it, but it has not been decided.”
“Welcome to Samdalri” is a human healing romance drama that tells the story of a protagonist, who appears as a “handsome ascending dragon” to others, but one day loses everything and falls, then returns to his home stream to catch his breath. It is proposed to be the next drama directed by Cha Young Hoon, who directed the KBS 2TV drama “When the Camellia Blooms.” Writer Kwon Hye Joo, who wrote KBS 2TV’s “Go Back Couple” and tvN’s “Hi Bye, Mama,” are expected to work together and are raising expectations for their spirited collaboration.
Ji Chang Wook is reviewing the male lead role of Cho Yong Pil, the face of the Mado Meteorological Agency, and Shin Hye Sun is reviewing the female lead role of Cho Eun Hye, the female protagonist who looks delicate but has a strong personality.
Attention is focusing on whether trusted actor Ji Chang Wook, who successfully completed “Warrior Baek Dong Soo,” “Five Fingers,” “Empress Ki,” “Healer,” “Suspicious Partner,” “Backstreet Rookie” and “The Sound of Magic,” will confirm his appearance in the upcoming healing drama “Welcome to Samdalri.”
Note: There has been some speculation that “Welcome to Samdalri” may be picked up by cable station JTBC. Please wait until the official confirmation arrives before making assumptions. Thank you.
