In celebration of the 70th anniversary of its establishment, the Republic of Korea Army will stage the musical “Shinheung Military School” from 9 September through 22 September 2018. The musical’s performance press conference was held on 14 August 2018 at the Taeguk Army Hall, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Lead cast members Ji Chang Wook, Kang Ha Neul, and Kim Sung Kyu were in attendance with the rest of the 37-member cast, where teasers of a few musical numbers were previewed.
After a long wait, ticket sales for Ji Chang Wook’s military musical “Shinheung Military School” are finally starting!
The musical will run from 9 September till 22 September 2018 (the previously announced 23 September date has been cancelled due to the start of the Korean Chuseok Holiday).
Performance timings (updated 14 August):
Tuesday and Thursday – 3pm and 8pm
Wednesday and Friday – 8pm
Saturday and Sunday – 2:30pm and 7:30pm
Running time: 150 mins (including intermission)

R seats – 95,000won
S seats – 85,000won
A seats – 75,000won

Theatre Yong can also house a 57-piece orchestra, which more than likely will be on display during the musical’s performances.

On 6 June 2018, Korean Memorial Day was observed at the National War Cemetery in Daejeon, and Ji Chang Wook was one of the active soldiers chosen to participate in this year’s ceremony.
As we all await Ji Chang Wook’s release from his army service, there may possibly be a rare opportunity to see him again in more of a public setting this upcoming September!
