Ji Chang Wook’s first performance of the musical “The Days” was successful…”Return lives up to its name.”
According to his agency on 17 July, actor Ji Chang Wook successfully completed his first performance of the 10th anniversary of the musical “The Days” at the Opera Theater of the Seoul Arts Center the previous day.
The musical “The Days” is Korea’s representative creative musical that touches the hearts of all generations with a movie-like story and songs.
Ji Chang Wook was praised for laying the foundation for Mu-young’s character by winning the Best Actor Award at The Musical Awards when it premiered in 2013, so his first performance back with “The Days” was more meaningful than ever.
Ji Chang Wook, who plays Mu-young, a bodyguard with ease and wit, captivated the audience by showing perfect character immersion from the first performance. Ji Chang Wook demonstrated that he is an irreplaceable actor by embodying the appearance of “Mu-young” itself, going back and forth between his exclusive action acting and heart-melting romance acting.
Ji Chang Wook’s delicate voice added synergy by meeting the masterpieces of the late Kim Kwang Seok. In particular, Ji Chang Wook’s deep acting, which captures changing emotions in his eyes and voice while digesting the numbers, made everyone fall into Mu-young’s story.
On top of that, Ji Chang Wook completed the performance by adding ad-libs and pleasant curtain calls that highlighted his chemistry with “Jeong-hak,” drawing a standing ovation from about 3,800 spectators on the 16th.

Meanwhile, musical “The Days,” which successfully opened its 10th anniversary performances amid favorable reviews, will be performed at the Seoul Arts Center Opera House until 3 September.

I know Meta Theatre often livestream musicals. Maybe we should send a request for them to livestream this musical so those overseas can watch.
Think we can contact them via IG.
I handle trademark and copyright law matters, so I have some background in Korean intellectual property laws. I cannot say it will not ever happen, but after 10 years of performances to date, “The Days” will never be livestreamed nor uploaded for future viewing. There are too many copyright issues to negotiate with each performer, each orchestra member, and the production companies involved that would need to be under contract before Insight could even broach an eventual livestream and/or upload. It would be a veritable logistical nightmare, and that is why it has not happened at all.
And apologies for removing your hyperlink to Meta Theatre, but The Kitchen does not allow embedding of links to outside entities.
Yeah I know nothing about such topic. So assuming other productions that aired on Meta have whatever contracts.
No harm intended. Just thought it would be nice for overseas fans to watch the musical.
When is the next performance
Hi there! We just posted the final schedule about 10 minutes ago. Wook is only scheduled for the 2 performances on 27 August.
I can’t wait to see him in the musical! Three of us are flying in from Hawaii just to see our favorite… Ji Chang Wook!
Oh to see him in person in a play! It would be a dream come true for me. I love his nuanced acting and his singing!
I wish there was a way I could see The Days!! If anyone knows of a site that streams The Days or a way to get a recording of it, that would be great.
