[Movie] Ji Chang Wook guests on KBS radio for “Fabricated City”

Ji Chang Wook made his first Viewable Radio (Bora) appearance today on KBS Cool FM “Jo Yoon Hee’s Volume Up” to promote his movie “Fabricated City”.

*Note: Viewable Radio, or “bora”, is a type of radio broadcast in Korea that enables you to watch what is happening in the studio through a live stream online.

Showing his honesty right from the start in his opening greeting to the show’s listeners, Ji Chang Wook said, “Hello, I’m here to promote my movie”.

“Because this is my first starring movie, I’m nervous till my palms are becoming sweaty. Although it’s a movie that I’m starring in, I honestly find it interesting. Even the reporters who usually show little reaction liked it.”

“In the movie, I play a character who gets framed for murder within 3 minutes 16 seconds. I think it’s possible to do many things within 3 minutes 16 seconds. You can eat cup noodles, listen to music, and even brush your teeth.”

Hearing that, actress and DJ Jo Yoon Hee asked, “How many push-ups are you able to do within 3 minutes 16 seconds?” He replied, “I’ve not tried it so I don’t know.”

He said, “I used to exercise a lot last time, but I feel tired these days so I don’t exercise.” To which Jo Yoon Hee jokingly replied, “I do not exercise. I’ll probably get older even faster if I exercise a lot, so I don’t exercise.”

Besides talking about the movie, he also touched on his personal life.

“There are scenes of the internet cafe in the movie. I used to go there often to play games when I was in middle and high school, so it’s a familiar place to me…But these days when I have time, I will usually meet up with friends in the neighbourhood and have a cup of tea or a meal together.”

When Jo Yoon Hee requested him to sing a song, he gamely sang his song from the “Healer” OST without hesitation.

Asked if he has any thoughts on being a radio DJ, he said, “I did think of it” and proceeded to evoke laughter by saying “goodnight” like how DJs say on air.

He also revealed his honest thoughts about starring in variety shows. Ji Chang Wook said, “I’m not able to do a lot of variety shows this time. So I appeared on ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’. I once appeared on a variety show that involved playing a lot of games, but my mum said I looked like a fool and told me not to do that again.”

“I enjoy listening to music on normal days. When I’m having a hard time, I will listen to Lee Juck’s songs or the OST of the musical ‘The Days.'”

He also spoke about his ideal type. “I like someone whom I can relate to emotionally and is able to communicate well with me without feeling uncomfortable when we meet up. But that is actually harder than I thought.”

Wrapping up the show, he said, “This was very fun. I was comfortable doing the broadcast. I hope many of you will support ‘Fabricated City’ which is premiering soon.”

  1. Another entertaining interview with JCW. Thanks Gabby.

I was just comparing JCW’s recent interviews to his earlier ones. I came upon a TV show where the cast of “Smile Dong Hae” was present. JCW was literally a baby there. He was asked to sing and the poor baby was soooo embarrassed he had to start a few times and ended up blushing at the end of the song. He had to cover his face with his hands!! Ahhhhh..he was soooo adorable even then!

Nowadays I think JCW grabs the mike when asked to sing! 😆

  2. I am laughing soooo hard! JCW is such a crack up with his honesty. Talking about sweaty palms and mum saying he looked like a “fool” on variety shows is too down to earth…too real!!! Love him to the ends of the earth. It was a great way to start my day in USA with all the crappy political news. Thank you JCW Kitchen!
