[Drama] Unveiling Ji Chang Wook’s passionate performance in “If You Wish Upon Me”

“If You Wish Upon Me” unveiled behind-the-scenes stills containing Ji Chang Wook’s passionate performance.

KBS 2TV’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “If You Wish Upon Me” (directed by Kim Yong Wan and scriptwriter Cho Ryeong Soo), which is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday [10 August], is a healing drama where a precarious young man who is driven to the end of his life makes people’s last wishes come true at a hospice hospital.

Actor Ji Chang Wook, who makes a strong transformation and challenges new characters in each work, will transform into Yoon Gyeo Re, a “broken adult child,” through “DAng So-mal,” showing his irreplaceable presence.

In the behind-the-scenes cuts, Ji Chang Wook was completely immersed in Yoon Gyeo Re, who struggled to endure without any motivation and will for life.  It makes us wonder what kind of great scenes his efforts to monitor and constantly exchange opinions with the production team to create better scenes during filming will create.

In addition, Ji Chang Wook is enhancing the completeness of the play with detailed emotional expressions and efforts, such as making the disturbing life of Yoon Gyeo Re, who is walking a tightrope between misfortune and despair.

On the other hand, even during busy filming, he does not lose his smile at every moment and works together with fellow actors, which shows the perfect teamwork of “Dang So-mal.”

Meanwhile, Yoon Gyeo Re, a person who lives with a heavier weight of life than others, placed himself in an orphanage by himself to escape from his father’s abuse.  His roller coaster-like life story, which breaks the wall with the world and gradually gets closer to hope, will give a deep impression and healing to the small screen.

The production team of “Dang So-mal” said, “Actor Ji Chang Wook showed impeccable acting skills, including concentration, detailed emotional acting, action and comedy that spares nobody.  I hope many people will share a page of Yoon Gyeo Re’s turbulent life, which was possible because he was Ji Chang Wook.”

KBS 2TV’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “If You Wish Upon Me,” which will touch the small screen with Ji Chang Wook’s high-end performance, will premiere at 9:50pm on 10 August (Wednesday), and at midnight on Korea’s A&E Lifetime.
