[Radio] Ji Chang Wook x Choi Soo Young, starting with hair-grabbing on ‘If You Wish Upon Me’

Actors Ji Chang Wook and Choi Soo Young made a pledge for ratings on “Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show” wishing for the drama’s success.
KBS Cool FM’s “Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show,” which aired on 10 August, featured lead actors Ji Chang Wook and Choi Soo Young from KBS 2TV’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “If You Wish Upon Me” (hereinafter referred to as “Dang So-mal”).

On this day, Ji Chang Wook said, “It is a story that takes place in the hospice ward,” adding, “It is a story that grants the wishes of the dying people, and it will be warm and touching.”  Ji Chang Wook then explained that he played the role of a community volunteer in the play, and Choi Soo Young played the role of a nurse in a hospice ward.

Park Myung Soo asked, “The story of the hospice ward is heavy in some ways, but are there any interesting episodes in it?” Ji Chang Wook made everyone laugh by explaining, “There are episodes of tangy soup, and there are warm stories.”

In response, Choi Soo Young said, “He didn’t grab my hair to grab it, I was dozing off with wearing a bun, but he grabbed it so that I wouldn’t doze off,” adding, “We didn’t start well from the beginning, but we started with a quarrel.”  Ji Chang Wook also showed confidence, saying, “Our drama has thrillers, and if you look at it, there are many things like this.”

I could also hear stories about Ji Chang Wook and Choi Soo Young’s first meeting.  Ji Chang Wook said, “There are people around me who are close to Sooyoung.  I received a lot of compliments even before I met her.”  He recalled, “We met for the first time in a somewhat favorable state, so I felt so comfortable and good.”

I was also able to hear the story of Ji Chang-wook and Choi Soo-young’s first meeting. Ji Chang-wook said, “I have a lot of close friends with Soo-young,” he said. Then, he recalled, “I met him for the first time in a state of a certain affinity.”

Choi Soo Young also confessed, “I heard a lot of compliments about oppa around me,” adding, “Choi Tae Joon also worked with me, and he said he was such a good hyung, so I had an inner relationship.”  Ji Chang Wook added, “But I don’t know if you believe it, but I’m a little shy.  That’s why oppa was like that at first,” he said, making everyone laugh.

Ji Chang Wook said, “There is a process of building bonds by reading before shooting,” adding, “After going through that process, I’m already very comfortable when I start filming.”  In addition, Ji Chang Wook said, “After the drama is over, we become very close,” adding to the laughter by saying, “We didn’t talk much earlier,” and Choi Soo Young also responded, “It’s almost you.”

Ji Chang Wook was embarrassed when asked about his good looks.  DJ Park Myung Soo asked actor Jung Woo Sung the same question, asking, “What’s the difficulty of being handsome?”  In response, Ji Chang Wook replied, “There is nothing difficult,” giving a laugh.  Ji Chang Wook’s singing skills also drew attention.  Asked if he had ever released a song, he drew attention by saying, “I sang the OST of the dramas I had appeared in before.”  Later, he sang a line of the OST “I’ll Protect You” from the drama “Healer,” drawing admiration.

Choi Soo Young also shared behind-the-scenes stories about Girls’ Generation’s comeback. “I was out of breath for the first time in a long time,” she said of the comeback song “Forever 1.”  She also said, “I’ve often felt uncomfortable,” adding, “All the members had a hard time almost the same, but what has changed since it’s the 15th anniversary is the members’ passion for overcoming the difficulties.”

A pledge of viewership ratings for “Dang So-mal” was also mentioned.  Park Myung Soo asked Ji Chang Wook, “If you hit 15% of the audience rating, will you take off your top?” Choi Soo-young said, “I’ll send you on vacation and we’ll be DJs,” but Park Myung Soo responded by saying, “I’m not going to take a vacation?” drawing laughter.  In response, Choi Soo Young added a smile by saying, “The writer and the producer like it.”  Then Park Myung Soo said, “If you reach 15%, you two will be DJs and I will be the guest,” and asked, “Please be a DJ as 2 MCs?”  Also, in response to Ji Chang Wook’s question “Who is this promise for,” Park Myung Soo shouted, “You, you!  I’m saying good luck to you,” making people laugh.

Meanwhile, “Dang So-mal” is a healing drama in which a precarious young man who is driven to the end of his life fulfills people’s last wishes at a hospice hospital, and will be broadcast for the first time at 9:50 p.m. on the same day (10 August).
