As we first reported in November 2014, an arrangement was made between Glorious Entertainment (Ji Chang Wook’s agency) and Insight Entertainment (the management company overseeing ‘The Days”) to present a performance especially for fans of Ji Chang Wook entitled “A Night With Free-Spirited Muyeong.” The seats were chosen by lottery by Ji Chang Wook himself, and I was thrilled to be on the receiving end of one for this special performance. On the night of 27 December, he had a special time with them at the Daehangno Musical Centre located at Hyehwa-dong in Seoul. Ji Chang Wook’s overseas and local fans were there to watch the musical “The Days” that he was performing. Ji Chang Wook had gathered 1000 fans together at one place for his final performance.
Battle of Popularity: Sexy Ahjusshi Cha Seung Won VS Yuan Emperor Ji Chang Wook
44-year-old sexy ahjusshi Cha Seung Won and 27-year-old flower boy Ji Chang Wook came to Taiwan one after another to meet their fans, competing for popularity and affinity (with the people). Ji Chang Wook came in advance to promote ticket sales, drawing more than 1,000 fans to his show and earning NT$7,000,000. With his handsome looks and sincerity, he won the hearts of the media and fans. Cha Seung Won made his 5th visit to Taiwan, and close to a thousand fans came out to support him. He did away with the singing and dancing and only spoke during the show, earning NT$5,000,000 worth of ticket sales. It was a day of many firsts for me — first time in Taiwan, first time travelling alone, first time heading overseas for a fan meeting, and more importantly, first time meeting Ji Chang Wook in the flesh!! His Taipei fan meeting was announced rather late, so this was a last-minute decision, and I thought to myself that this will probably be the craziest thing that I’ve ever done. Was it worth it? Oh, certainly so.

Event: Ji Chang Wook 2014 Fan Meeting in Taipei
Date: 30 August 2014 (Sat), 7.30pm
Venue: Taipei International Convention Centre
South Korean actor Ji Chang Wook, who played the infatuated Yuan emperor in the Korean drama ‘Empress Ki’, has been confirmed to be arriving in Taiwan on the 28th, and will be holding his first fan meeting at the Taiwan International Convention Centre on the 30th at 7.30pm, giving fans the chance to interact with the Yuan emperor at close range.
Unlike other Korean celebrities who make a quick visit, Ji Chang Wook will specially be coming to Taiwan 2 days in advance and is expected to spend 4 days and 3 nights here from 28th to 31st August. Earlier, he came to Taiwan to film the popular programme ‘Running Man’ and left a good impression. He said that besides holding a fan meeting and interacting with fans, after giving interviews to the media, he does not exclude the possibility of “travelling incognito” to visit local places during his remaining time. Hence, not only will his fans be able to meet him in person at the fan meeting, they may even get the chance of seeing him at the night markets and other places!
