[Info] Update on the DC Gallery Review Book

Some of you may remember that in late 2014, Ji Chang Wook’s Kitchen was asked by the Ji Chang Wook DC Gallery to assist them with gathering submissions from international fans for the upcoming publication of the DC Gallery’s First Review Book.  Upon their request, we posted a call for two separate collections of items, and those who decided to join in presented such amazing pieces of artwork, phone screen captures, recipes, small notes and other items which we gladly forwarded to the DC Gallery to be included in this Review Book.  And for that, your Admins here are eternally grateful for your support.

Ji Chang Wook
Killer moves: Kind image + direct communication through fan meetings

Q: I heard that a “Ji Chang Wook exhibition” was held?
Exhibitions of Hallyu idols have always been held at the Gangnam Tourist Information Centre, but I’m the first actor to have such an exhibition there. I’m embarrassed.

Q: Honestly, it feels rather good right?
The word “exhibition” alone (laughs) is really embarrassing. It was nothing much. I’m thankful that people even come to view my photos and the items I use. I’ve always liked soccer, so it seems like soccer items were the most. I brought everything so there’s nothing left at home.

[Magazine] @ Star1, September 2015 issue – Twenty nine, Ji Chang Wook

There are people who make you feel happy just by being with them. Actor Ji Chang Wook is a cheerful man who provides good energy to the people around him. Even when meeting him for the first time, he is a “multi-talented man” who makes you feel comfortable like you’ve been friends for 10 years. As he has been travelling around the provinces to film the movie “Fabricated City”,  Ji Chang Wook laughs heartily, saying it has been a long time since he “came up to Seoul”. We present you an interesting interview that dramatically unravels the eight years of his acting career.

[Eng Sub] 20150814 Stars From Korea – Ji Chang Wook

《韩来之星》20150814-01.mp4_20150815_120101

Ji Chang Wook was recently featured on China’s Sohu TV “Stars From Korea (韩来之星)”, a Korean entertainment news programme that airs online every week. As the show is produced in China, I was surprised to see that the show was conducted entirely in Korean (with Chinese subtitles added for local audiences), with the concept and on-screen animations looking rather similar to those entertainment programmes found on the major South Korean television networks.

Thankfully, the interview was rather entertaining (partly thanks to a rather amusing emcee), where Ji Chang Wook reveals the secret behind the filming of his challenging “monkey bar” action scene in “Healer” (thereby answering the question I was wondering about months ago), gets his shoulders measured again, declares his wish to act as a king in sageuks (for practical reasons), and also talks about…what else but food.

[Magazine] Ceci China, June 2015 issue – The Power of Ji Chang Wook

ceci02a

In the dramas “Smile Donghae” and “Empress Ki”, Ji Chang Wook won the Excellence Actor award from KBS and MBC respectively with his outstanding acting abilities, but the show that gave him widespread popularity across Asia is still the drama “Healer”. This drama showcased the romance typical of Korea dramas, and also combined comedy, intrigue, and other elements, describing the story of a courier named “Healer” who disguises himself as a reporter to find out about the past and finds true love at the same time. When asked what was the charm of Healer Seo Jung Hu that attracted him, Ji Chang Wook said he likes this kind of role that has a concrete image and also is fun at the same time. “Seo Jung Hu was lonely at first; he does not like being with other people; all he wanted was to earn money to buy a deserted island and live there alone, until Chae Young Shin appeared in his life, he started to protect and love her, and steadily opened up his heart to her. The character went from cold to one that understands others, and even loved others. This process greatly touched me, giving me a lot of room to explore and find out his inner self.”
